FAQ
- Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What
should I send you to make my Iris prints?
A. It all
depends on what you have.
Film or Prints? - If you have film already made, we can drum
scan film, either positive or negative up to 11"x14". We can
also scan prints up to the same size.
Original Painting - If the only thing you have is your original
painting, we can make a high end digital capture directly from the painting
with our high resolution digital camera.
Digital File - If you already have digital files, we can work
directly from there. Your images should be in RGB or LAB color space
and digital files should be either TIFF or Photoshop format at 300 dpi
for the desired final Iris print size. We can work from half resolution
files as well but suggest the more the better. You can send them on
either Jazz, Zip (100 or 250), CD, DVD, DVD-RAM with PC or MAC formatting.
Q. What
is the largest Iris print I can make?
A.
The size of one sheet is 35"x47" but its printable area is
actually 34"x46" due to the borders around the image(s) we
need to have when printing. So the largest image you can make on one
sheet is 34"x46".
Q. How
long will it take to get my Iris prints?
A.
Typically, from the time we receive your material (film, original, or
digital file), it will take a week to produce the proof; another week
after the proof is okayed by you to get the final prints out. Smaller
orders may in some case be done a bit quicker and larger orders may
take a little longer. If you have a short deadline, tell us at the time
of the order and we will try our best to accommodate your deadline.
Q. Do
you take credit cards?
A.
Yes, we take Visa, Master, American Express, and Discover cards as well
as checks.
Q. When
is the payment due?
A.
All payments are due either at the pickup or before shipping.
Q. Can
I stop in to your studio?
A.
Yes! We welcome artists to come by and see the actual process of Iris
printing for themselves. If you do, please be kind to call ahead to
make an appointment.
