Scanning
Drum
scan for Iris printing
If you
are photographer and have film you want to print as Iris prints or if
you are a painter and have high quality film of the original (if you
don't think your film is high quality enough, see Digital
Capture), we drum scan the film to create a digital file for Iris
printing.
We use
a drum scanner because it is the very best of all scanners. In order
to make great Iris prints, you need to have the highest quality scanned
files possible. Drum scanners can separate more detail and tonality
than flatbed scanners or professional film scanners. We scan for a full
resolution (300 dpi) for size of output you request.
We can
scan any film type up to 11"x14". After we scan, all files
are then cleaned and made ready for proofing.
Drum
scan for your own printer
If you
are not interested in making Iris prints but want to have the better
quality scanned files for your own desktop printers, we can also scan
your film for that purpose at a lower price.
For printing
on consumer level printers, the scanned files don't have to be as large
as the ones for Iris printing since the size of output will be smaller.
These files are set for 300 dpi at roughly 11"x14" in RGB.
After we
scan, we will burn the files to a multi-formatted CD and send it to
you along with the scanned materials you provided.
